Built for owners, investors, and operating partners.

Owners & Investors

Independent guidance before capital is committed and while the project is underway.

Boutique Hotels & Resorts

Renovation and repositioning support that respects the guest experience and operating plan.

Operators & Management Groups

A construction-side partner who coordinates with the people responsible for opening and operating the property.

Hospitality projects carry two sets of stakes.

The building has to work—and the business has to open. A delayed guest-room turnover, missed procurement date, incomplete life-safety scope, or poorly phased renovation can affect revenue long after the construction decision is made. Claus Consulting provides independent construction judgment on the owner's side of the table, helping the project team connect scope, budget, schedule, selections, operations, and reopening readiness.

Independent by design.

Claus Consulting does not self-perform construction, carry trades on payroll, earn supplier commissions, or operate the hotel. Our role is to give owners clear construction guidance, coordinate the work, and protect the project without a financial interest in making the construction scope larger.

Frequently asked questions

When should we involve Claus Consulting?

Ideally during property evaluation, scope development, or before contractor selection. We can also step into an active renovation when the schedule, budget, quality, or team coordination needs attention.

Do you replace our architect, contractor, or hotel operator?

No. We work alongside them. The architect designs, the contractor builds, and the operator runs the property. We represent the owner and help keep those responsibilities, decisions, and deliverables aligned.

Can you review a property before acquisition?

Yes. We can review available documents, proposed capital work, visible construction conditions, and known project assumptions, then help the owner identify where licensed inspectors, engineers, environmental consultants, or other specialists are needed.

Do you work outside Michigan?

Yes. Claus Consulting is based in Southeast Michigan, with regional and national travel available by appointment.

Can you work confidentially with investors or management companies?

Yes. We sign confidentiality agreements when appropriate and can work within the owner's, lender's, operator's, or development team's reporting structure.
